Run Superset's agents on a Prized box
Add a Prized box as a Superset host, so Superset's parallel agents run on a cloud Linux machine that keeps working while your laptop sleeps, with a size for each number of agents.
On this page6
Superset runs many coding agents side by side, each in its own git worktree. With a Prized box as its host, they build and test on the box instead of your laptop, and keep going with the lid closed.
1. Start a box
npx prizedIt signs you up, starts a box on $30 of free credit with no card, and sets up this machine, including an entry for the box in your SSH config (Quickstart). Already signed in? Use the box you set up, or start another on a plan with prized box new mango --wait, then prized init --box mango.
2. Check plain ssh
Superset reaches the box through your own ssh. Use your box's name in place of mango (prized box ls lists them):
ssh mango echo ok
# okCould not resolve hostname means your ssh skipped that entry: prized doctor says why and repairs what it can (Troubleshooting).
3. Sign the agents in on the box
prized agents handoff claude codex --ghClaude Code and Codex come installed on the box; this signs them in there, and --gh copies your GitHub sign-in so Superset can clone private repos (Credentials). For a box other than the one you set up, add --box mango after prized. Claude Code's sign-in is copied from this machine: with none here, it copies nothing for Claude, so sign in on the box instead (prized ssh mango, then claude and /login).
4. Add the box as a host
If this box was forked or restored from a snapshot or template, give it its own machine id first, so Superset doesn't take it for the box it came from. On the box (prized ssh mango):
sudo rm -f /etc/machine-id /var/lib/dbus/machine-id && sudo systemd-machine-id-setupA box created before October 6, 2026 also needs sudo loginctl enable-linger $USER there, so the host keeps running after you log out. Then, on your computer, with the Superset CLI installed there:
superset hosts add mango --name mangoOver ssh mango, it installs the Superset CLI on the box, signs it in, and runs it as a service that starts with the box. Remote access is part of Superset Pro (Superset's docs).
hosts add needs Superset CLI 1.38.0 or later (superset --version shows yours). On an older CLI, start the host in a shell on the box instead (prized ssh mango); a host started this way stops when the box restarts:
curl -fsSL https://superset.sh/cli/install.sh | sh
~/superset/bin/superset auth login
~/superset/bin/superset start --daemonThen pick mango as the host for new workspaces in Superset; their worktrees live in ~/.superset/worktrees on the box.
5. Pick a size
Agents waiting on the model need little; builds and tests need the room. As a starting point, count 2 vCPU and 8 GB per agent building at once:
| Agents building at once | Size |
|---|---|
| 2 | Small (4 vCPU, 16 GB) |
| 4 | Medium (8 vCPU, 32 GB) |
| 8 | Large (16 vCPU, 64 GB) |
| 16 | Extra Large (32 vCPU, 128 GB) |
prized box resize mango LargeResizing restarts the box, which stops a host started by hand on an older Superset CLI: run ~/superset/bin/superset start --daemon on the box again afterwards.
The free credit runs a Small for about nine days around the clock; Medium and larger need a plan. An eight hour day on a Large is $5.48, and a sleeping box pays only for its disk; Billing lists every size's hourly rate.
When the box sleeps
On the free credit, a box pauses after 2 hours idle, never in its first 24 hours. An agent writing to a Superset terminal counts as use, but a host waiting for work does not, so the box pauses two hours after the last agent goes quiet and Superset shows the host offline (Auto-pause). To keep the host online, switch auto-pause off for this box, or set a longer window such as 12h:
prized box auto-pause mango offOtherwise, prized box resume mango --wait wakes it, as does prized ssh. Save it as the host's wake command, and superset hosts wake mango runs it:
superset hosts set-wake mango "prized box resume mango --wait"A Medium or larger restarts on waking, so its terminals start fresh (Pause and resume). If you started the Superset host by hand, run ~/superset/bin/superset start --daemon on the box again after waking it.
