herdr

Land in herdr instead of tmux, a terminal multiplexer that shows which of your coding agents is working, waiting on you, or done.

Connect

Terminal
prized herdr

The first connect installs herdr, an open-source terminal multiplexer built for coding agents, into ~/.local/bin on the box (a checksum-verified release); later connects reuse it, and a herdr you installed yourself is used as is. You land in herdr's default session, the same one herdr opens from any shell on the box, and a suspended box wakes first.

CommandWhat it does
prized herdr my-boxConnect to another box.
prized herdr -s agentsAttach to, or create, a named herdr session.
prized herdr --no-forwardLeave the box's ports alone (Ports).
prized herdr --no-drop-uploadPaste dragged files as plain paths, without uploading them.
prized herdr --no-clipboardKeep copies made on the box off this machine's clipboard.

Find the agent that needs you

The sidebar lists every agent with its state: working, blocked (waiting on you), idle, or done. Press ctrl+b g to list them all, then b for the blocked ones and Enter to jump there. Start an agent in a new tab with ctrl+b c, then claude or codex.

KeysAction
ctrl+b cNew tab
ctrl+b v / ctrl+b -Split right / down
ctrl+b h j k lMove between panes
ctrl+b gJump to any agent
ctrl+b qDetach; everything keeps running
ctrl+b s / ctrl+b ?Settings / every key

The mouse works too: click tabs and agents, drag pane borders, right-click for menus.

Works like prized ssh

On macOS and Linux:

  • Drag files in. Files dropped on the window upload to ~/.prized/drops/ and paste as box paths; herdr shows the progress as a notification (Sessions).
  • Copy out. A copy made on the box, Claude Code's included, lands on this machine's clipboard.
  • Dropped connections reconnect to the same herdr session (Sessions); a box paused meanwhile stays paused.
