# Run Vibe Kanban's agents on a Prized box

> Run Vibe Kanban on a Prized box and open it in your browser, so Claude Code and Codex work on a cloud Linux machine in a git worktree per workspace: Node.js on the box, the ports, sign-ins, and restarts.

[Vibe Kanban](https://www.vibekanban.com) runs Claude Code, Codex and other agents in workspaces, each in its own git worktree. Run it on a box and open it from your computer's browser: the agents work on the box and keep going with the lid closed.

## 1. Get a box in your SSH config [#1-get-a-box-in-your-ssh-config]

[Sign up](https://prized.dev/sign-in) and run the command the tour shows: it installs the Prized CLI and adds your box to `~/.ssh/config` ([Quickstart](https://prized.dev/docs/quickstart)). Use your box's name in place of `mango` below.

## 2. Put your repo and sign-ins on the box [#2-put-your-repo-and-sign-ins-on-the-box]

In your repo on your computer, run this; it clones your current branch from `origin` to `~/code/<folder>` on the box, and unpushed work stays behind ([Sync](https://prized.dev/docs/sync#add-a-project)):

```bash
prized setup . --clone --no-agents --no-start
```

Then sign the agents in on the box and add your git identity:

```bash
prized agents handoff claude codex --gh
```

For pushes and pull requests from Vibe Kanban, let git use that GitHub sign-in too:

```bash
ssh mango gh auth setup-git
```

Vibe Kanban starts Claude Code and Codex with `npx`, in versions it pins, rather than the CLIs preinstalled on the box; they use the box's sign-ins. It shows Codex as signed in once `~/.codex/auth.json` is on the box.

## 3. Start Vibe Kanban on the box [#3-start-vibe-kanban-on-the-box]

```bash
prized ssh mango -s vibe-kanban
```

Then, on the box, install Node.js (a fresh box has none) and start Vibe Kanban on fixed ports, the app and its preview proxy:

```bash title="you@box"
curl -fsSL https://nodejs.org/dist/v22.23.4/node-v22.23.4-linux-x64.tar.xz | tar -xJ -C ~/.local --strip-components=1
PORT=3005 PREVIEW_PROXY_PORT=3006 npx -y vibe-kanban
```

The first start downloads about 50 MB, then prints that it could not open a browser, which is expected on a box. `prized ssh` runs in a tmux session of its own that stays up when you close the terminal, so Vibe Kanban keeps running.

## 4. Open Vibe Kanban [#4-open-vibe-kanban]

Open `http://localhost:3005` on your computer: Prized puts the box's ports 3000 to 9999 on your localhost ([Ports](https://prized.dev/docs/ports)). For a box that isn't your default, forward the port and leave it running (and `prized proxy mango 3006` for the preview):

```bash
prized proxy mango 3005
```

> [!WARNING]
> Vibe Kanban's server asks for no password: anyone who reaches its port can run your agents and open a terminal on the box. It listens only on the box's `127.0.0.1` unless you set `HOST`; keep it that way, and don't share the port with `prized ports share`.

Use `~/code/myproject` on the box as the repository. Each workspace gets its own git worktree under `/var/tmp/vibe-kanban/worktrees` there.

## When the box sleeps [#when-the-box-sleeps]

Vibe Kanban and its agents keep running on the box while your computer sleeps. On the free credit the box pauses after 2 hours idle ([Auto-pause](https://prized.dev/docs/boxes#auto-pause)). To keep it up while agents work:

```bash
prized box auto-pause mango off
```

If the box restarted instead of resuming ([Pause and resume](https://prized.dev/docs/boxes#pause-and-resume)), start Vibe Kanban again with the same `PORT=3005 PREVIEW_PROXY_PORT=3006 npx -y vibe-kanban` in `prized ssh mango -s vibe-kanban`; its repos and workspaces are kept.
