# Use opencode Desktop with a Prized box

> Add a Prized box as an SSH server in opencode Desktop, so its sessions run on a cloud Linux machine that keeps working while your laptop sleeps.

[opencode](https://opencode.ai) Desktop can run its sessions on a Linux machine you reach over SSH. Add your box as that server, and the agent builds and tests on the box instead of your laptop.

## 1. Start a box [#1-start-a-box]

```bash
npx prized
```

It signs you up, starts a box, and adds it to your SSH config ([Quickstart](https://prized.dev/docs/quickstart)). Use your box's name in place of `mango` (`prized box ls` lists them), and check that plain ssh reaches it:

```bash
ssh mango echo ok
# ok
```

## 2. Keep the box awake [#2-keep-the-box-awake]

An opencode server waiting for you counts as idle, so on the free credit the box pauses after 2 hours idle (never in its first 24 hours), and Desktop can't wake it. Switch auto-pause off for this box, or set a longer window such as `12h` ([Auto-pause](https://prized.dev/docs/boxes#auto-pause)):

```bash
prized box auto-pause mango off
```

## 3. Add the box in opencode Desktop [#3-add-the-box-in-opencode-desktop]

Open the command palette, choose **Add SSH server**, enter `mango` as the host, and connect. Desktop installs a matching opencode server on the box over your `ssh`, so there is nothing to install there first. Then open a project folder on the box, and connect a model provider for this server the first time, as you would locally.

## If the box paused [#if-the-box-paused]

`prized box resume mango --wait` wakes it; then choose **Reconnect** in Desktop. A Medium or larger restarts on waking, so a turn that was running stops ([Pause and resume](https://prized.dev/docs/boxes#pause-and-resume)).
