Common questions.
- How does Codex sign in on the box?
- An API-key sign-in is copied from your laptop. A ChatGPT sign-in stays on your laptop, so setup opens a sign-in page in your browser and the box gets its own. You can also run codex login --device-auth on the box.
- Do I pay Prized for Codex’s tokens?
- No. Codex runs on your own ChatGPT plan or API key. Prized bills the box by the hour while it’s awake, and only its disk while it sleeps.
- Can I use the ChatGPT app with the box?
- Yes. Add the box under Settings, Connections, as an SSH connection, and its projects open in the app. The app’s tasks stop when your Mac sleeps, so for work that runs overnight start Codex on the box with prized agents run codex.
- Does the box stay on all night?
- Yes, while Codex works: its output in the session counts as use. On a plan, auto-pause is off unless you turn it on. On the free credit an idle box sleeps after 2 hours, never in its first 24; before a long quiet run, turn that off with prized box auto-pause BOX off.
